John William Miller Papers
Roger Miller Aviation Slide Collection
The collection consists primarily of color slides depicting aircraft, mostly civilian planes at air fields throughout the Miami Valley, with the bulk dating from 1959 to 1988. The slides were in most cases created, and in some cases collected, by Roger Miller, an aviation enthusiast and local historian from Middletown, Ohio.
Dr. Hans von Ohain Papers
Dr. Hans von Ohain was the co-inventor of the first successful jet engine. After World War II, he moved to Dayton, Ohio where he was a research scientist at the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. His papers contain patents, correspondence, speeches, technical reports, scientific articles, awards, and photographs. Some documents are in German and French, but the majority of the collection is in English.
Dr. Sidney Peerless Photograph Collection
The collection contains 574 photographs that were collected by Dr. Sidney Peerless. The collection contains photographs from five different photographers; Nancy Ford Cones, Cecil Carey, Richard Tepe, Fritz Henle, and US Navy and Air Force photographs of aircraft.
William Peters Aviation Photograph Collection
Col. Wayne C. Pittman, Jr. Aviation Collection
This collection of over 4,000 aviation postcards was collected and organized by Colonel Wayne Pittman. It contains postcards of commercial and military aircraft, along with airport buildings and locations from around the world.
P. H. Richardson Wright Field Photo Collection
The Richardson Wright Field Collection contains 172 photos of aircraft and aircraft parts. The majority of the pictures feature displays from the Armed Forces Day Air Show held at Wright Field in 1945. Many of the exhibits pertain to Luftwaffe aircraft captured during Operation Lusty. As well, there are many photos documenting the only Fairchild powered XAT-6E Texan produced.
Laurence P. Richmond Papers (MS-594)
The collection consists primarily of information on the development of radio technologies at General Electric in the 1920s and of radio and radar technologies at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base from the 1930s through 1950s. Some information on the WPAFB Quarter Century Club is also included.
Dr. Malcolm L. Ritchie Collection
The Dr. Malcolm L. Ritchie Collection is composed of documents relating to Dr. Ritchie's career in aeronautic and automobile engineering, as well as information relating to psychology and the effects on the human body due to machines. Journals, reference books, and slides/negatives are included. The collection also contains personal papers include Ritchie's family, war service, teaching and personal interests.
Don Roetman Papers (MS-381)
The Don Roetman Papers are a collection of materials primarily concerning helicopters. The collection includes materials concerning various helicopter and aircraft projects from his career, as well as a substantial amount of corporate materials from various helicopter companies.
